Founded in 1916 by William E. Cranston, a manufacturer of electric items, most notably portable and built in room heaters. He merged in 1932 with H.H. Fogwell to form The Thermador Electrical Manufacturing Co.
In 1947, Thermador invents the first built-in wall oven. A year later, they introduced the first Pro Range for residential use.
The first self-cleaning oven was introduced through Thermador in 1963. The smooth top material developed by Corning Inc. was first used by Thermador in 1970.
